DRAINBACK - The Pressureless System

DRAINBACK - The Pressureless System

Draining the collector

The pool water temperature sensor tells the controller that the desired pool water temperature (e.g., 30°C) has been reached and no further warming is due to occur. The solar pump is switched off by the control unit and the water flows back from the slightly slanted collector (at least 4°) independently and without pressure into the drain-back tank.

Of course, this process also takes place when clouds blocks the sun and the outside temperature drops more than the pool water temperature.
